We use ThermaVein advanced radiofrequency equipment to achieve permanent results. Through a process called Thermocoagulation, ThermaVein converts radio waves into heat energy and delivers this through the tip of a very fine needle. This removal technique is preferable to more traditional methods like cryotherapy (freezing the growth off) or excision (cutting the growth out) because the risk of complications and scarring is minimal with less inflammation.
Skin tags are harmless growths that are usually about a few millimetres to 5cm in size. They are normally painless and do not change over time. They often appear in areas where the skin creases and rubs, such as the neck, eyelids, armpits and groin.
Milia (more commonly known as ‘milk spots’) are often confused with stubborn whiteheads – but they are actually keratin-filled cysts that appear just under the skin, often near the nose, eyes and genitalia.

What does skin tag removal and milia removal involve?
We use state of the art Thermavein technology to remove skin tags and milia. Your skin growths will be treated by heat energy through a very fine, blunt needle. Occasionally, very large skin tags will require an excision in addition to the radiofrequency heat – this is conducted only by a doctor.
How long does skin tag and milia removal take?
The process is walk in, walk out – skin tag and milia removal takes just 30 minutes, including your consultation.
Are skin tag and milia removals painful?
Treatment can be uncomfortable, but it is tolerable and quick. For large skin tags, we inject a local anaesthetic to numb the area.
What happens immediately after treatment?
You can continue with your day and apply a tinted SPF over the area.
Is it safe to remove skin tags and milia?
Skin tag and milia removal are considered very safe procedures with minimal risk of complications and minimal downtime when using radiofrequency technology.
When will I see the results?
Results are often immediate, but in some cases, it can take 2-3 days for the tag to detach (unless it is excised at the time). For larger treatment areas, inflammation in the area can take a few days to calm down.
Does skin tag removal leave a scar?
Administered with expertise, in almost all cases, skin tag removal using Thermavein should leave no scar, just a small blemish that fades quickly.
Do skin tags grow back after being removed?
No, usually not. New growths can occur close to the area treated if the skin is still rubbing
Do I need to repeat the treatment?
In rare cases, if the skin tag or milia persists beyond six weeks post-treatment, we offer complimentary repeat removal.
