Dr. Harpal Bains is a leading expert in bioidentical hormones, functional medicine, longevity, and environmental health, with over 15 years of experience. Her medical journey began with a conventional path in the NHS, where she completed her surgical rotation before transitioning into functional and longevity medicine.

An advanced BHRT practitioner certified by The Academy of Preventive and Innovative Medicine by Worldlink Medical, Dr. Bains also holds training in Psychosexual Medicine and a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.

As a pioneer in functional medicine, she has witnessed its evolution from the fringes of healthcare to a well-established field. Her extensive experience enabled her to unravel complex medical cases, crafting highly individualised protocols tailored to each patient’s history, mindset, and unique physiology. She also has a specific interest in psychology and neuroplasticity. Today, Dr. Bains focuses on training and mentoring Harpal Clinic doctors, equipping them with her innovative methodologies to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

Dr. Bains firmly believes that curiosity, critical thinking, and intellectual humility are essential traits for medical practitioners. This mindset aligns seamlessly with the field of longevity medicine, where innovation and cutting-edge healthcare continuously evolve. Her clinical expertise in longevity medicine has been featured in top publications, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Men’s Health, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, Women’s Fitness, GQ, and more.

As Medical Director, Dr. Bains stays at the forefront of emerging scientific developments in longevity and integrative medicine. Dr. Bains is also an advanced practitioner in Aesthetic Medicine, seamlessly integrating principles of functional and longevity medicine into her aesthetic practice to achieve sustainable, long-term benefits for her patients.

“I began practising longevity and functional medicine over 13 years ago, at a time when the field was still relatively unknown. To sustain my practice in those early years, I also worked in aesthetic medicine – a path I hadn’t initially set out on, but one where I developed a strong skill set. Even then, my approach was grounded in long-term health and prevention, and I brought a longevity-focused lens to everything I did. That foundation continues to shape the way I practise today.”

Looking ahead, Dr. Bains is dedicated to sharing her expertise through public speaking, mentoring, training, and writing, aiming to inspire and educate the wider medical community.

Other interests: Interior design, fashion, dancing, styling, and conservation.

Saliha moved to London when she was 18 to complete a BA in Graphic Design. She then pursued a career in graphic design professionally for a few years whilst experiencing all that London had to offer. During this time, her chronic childhood eczema flared up severely to the point where steroid creams did not work anymore. She felt like she needed to find her own solution to her problem.

This led to years of pursuing various therapies like Ayurveda, herbalism, acupuncture and cupping. This eventually led her to functional medicine in which she pursued and earned a PhD. Whilst seeing functional medicine patients, she also decided to seek a more hands-on role in medicine and decided to train further and joined the NHS Blood and Transplant. This gave her valuable experience in patient care and phlebotomy. She then went on to get further training in medical aesthetics procedures like microneedling and PRP.

Since joining the clinic, Saliha has been able to explore her passion fully and continues to learn and apply her vast knowledge in this area of medicine to her patients. She is active both as an IV drip practitioner and also as a health coach handling post-consultation care.
